Here you will find out about our Green Ambassadors roles and responsibilities.
Green Ambassadors
Who are the Green Ambassadors?
Children in Year 6 have the opportunity to apply to become a Green Ambassador for the school. These children put themselves forward because they are passionate about sustainability, our environment and reducing waste through recycling. The children are active, keen and determined to make a difference.
What is the aim of the Green Ambassadors?
One of the most important things about being a Green Ambassador is convincing other people to become greener too.
As our sustainability champions, the Ambassadors take the lead in helping to educate our school about environmental issues and sustainability. They also remind classmates and teachers to ‘stay green’ by switching things off and recycling.
What projects have the Green Ambassadors been involved in so far?
The Green Ambassadors organised the school disco with the theme – recycling. All children had to wear an outfit from recycled waste.
More recently the Green Ambassadors attended the Climate Strike Rally which started at Hackney Town Hall. The Ambassadors listened to a variety of speakers and were so moved by the speeches they decided to make their own unprepared speech on the steps of the Town Hall to the hundreds of people who attended.
