Rights Respecting School
Gainsborough Primary School is a rights respecting school. This means that we put the 54 articles in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) at the heart of everything we do. As a school we promote children’s rights and empower them to become global citizens. The UNCRC recognises that all children around the world are entitled to these rights.
As a school we have chosen to particularly focus on the following rights:
Article 14: Adults should help you decide what is right and wrong
Article 15: You have the right to play with other children
Article 18: You have the right to a good education
Article 29: School must develop every child’s personality, talents and ability
Article 39: You have the right to help if you have been hurt
