Gainsborough Primary School offers free school meals to all of it’s primary aged pupils (3-11 year olds).
Many of our pupils join Gainsborough in our Nursery class however, a place in the Nursery does not automatically guarantee a place in the main school reception class. Parents have to apply directly to the Hackney Education for a reception class space.
We are holding regular Reception tours for perspective new parents, please call the school to arrange a booking 0208 985 4622.

Applying for a place in our Reception class for 2023-2024
If your child was born between 1st September 2018 and 31st August 2019, they are due to start primary school in September 2023.
The closing date for applying for your child’s primary school place is 15th January 2023 and any applications received after this date will be treated as late.
